Personality and Leadership preferences

I´m going to tell you about an interesting research that I´ve just read. The name of this investigation is "The relationship between personality and leadership preferences" and the authors are Simon A. Moss and Simon Ngu.The authors investigated in their study about the possibility of a relationship between a certain kind of personality and the preference towards leadership styles. The personality was considered using the five-factor model. The subjects of this study were 166 nurse employees, whom had to complete a questionary about their personality and preferred leadership style. The results of this investigation showed that there really exist a relationship. In fact, the merits of transformational and transactional leadership depend on the personality of followers.Honestly, I don´t beleive in the five-factor model very much, but this investigation is interesting and a psychologist has to know about it.
